Brian is from Wisconsin and grew up in a family with four sisters. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he was led to the Lord through the influence of his college roommate. After four years at Madison, Brian attended Moody Bible Institute, where he graduated with a B.A. in Bible and Theology in 1985. He then worked in the Dean’s Department at Moody as a Residence Supervisor for two years while also serving as a pastoral intern at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, Illinois. His seminary studies were completed at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, where he graduated in 1989 with an M.A. in Evangelism and Missions.
Beth grew up in a Christ-centered home in the suburbs of Chicago as one of four daughters. She attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, and then transferred to Moody Bible Institute, where she and Brian met. After a semester at Moody, Beth attended and graduated from Concordia College/West Suburban School of Nursing in River Forest, Illinois, where she received her B.S. in Nursing. Beth loves to play the violin and sing. She is currently volunteering at Pregnancy Resources in Moline and leads the Entrusted with a Child’s Heart study for moms.
After working at Moody for two years, Brian served as the Associate Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship at Calvary Memorial Church for seven years. He then served as the Executive Pastor for three years at River Valley Community Church in Rockford, Illinois. After sensing God’s call to serve cross-culturally, Brian and Beth served as church-planting missionaries in Mexico City, Mexico, for three years. He then served as the Senior Pastor at Pontiac Bible Church in Pontiac, Illinois for fourteen years before becoming the Senior Pastor at Edgewood on July 1, 2013.
Brian serves on the Executive Board of Directors for Keep Believing Ministries, is a Pro Contributor to SermonCentral.com, is an author of two tracts (Soul Satisfaction and The Only Way), is a contributor to the Preacher’s Sourcebook, a columnist for Believe.com, writes an “Ask a Pastor” feature for Believe.com and serves as the chaplain for the Quad Cities Missing Persons Network.
Ed is a native of western New York, having grown up just a few miles from Niagara Falls. He traveled with Life Action Ministries for one year after high school, and then attended school in Michigan. There he met his wife Sheila and they were married. Ed received a BA and a MA from FaithWay Baptist College in Bible. He and Sheila came to Edgewood in 1979, and he served as youth pastor until 2000. He is now serving as Associate Pastor over pastoral care and seniors. He loves being a grandpa to his three granddaughters and one grandson.
Tim, along with his wife Carrie, came to Edgewood in 1981. They are both graduates of Tennessee Temple University. Along with his Bible degree, he is also a master's graduate of Liberty University in counseling. Tim oversees the adult discipleship ministries of the church, teaches the Couple's Class, and ministers through pastoral counseling. Away from the church he enjoys biking and playing tennis as well as spending time with his family.
Sheila grew up in southeastern Michigan. She and her husband Ed met in college in Michigan and were married in 1976. Sheila has a BS from FaithWay Baptist College and an MA from Eastern Michigan University. She and Ed moved from Michigan to Rock Island in 1979 when Ed accepted the call to be the youth pastor at Edgewood. Sheila taught school, assisted Ed with the youth ministry, and was a stay-at-home mom while their three boys were young. She is currently Christian Education Director at Edgewood. She and Ed have three sons, three daughters-in-law, four grand-daughters and a grandson.
Andy joined the staff of EBC in June of 2006. He is the administrative pastor and first impressions pastor for Edgewood. Andy is a graduate of Tennessee Temple College and a graduate of East Moline Christian School. They live in Rock Island with their daughter.
Dan and his family joined the staff in May of 2010. Dan and his wife Beth have been married since 1989 and have six children, two of which are grown. Dan heads up the Celebrate Recovery ministry and the Missions Committee. Dan's life verse is Colossians 2:6-7 "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
Chad joined the Edgewood staff in the summer of 2015. He and his wife Becky, both Quad Cities natives, have returned to live on mission for the glory of God as part of Edgewood with their two children. Chad earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Trinity College (Deerfield, Illinois) and has over 17 years of experience leading Worship, Creative, Media and Technical Arts ministries in the local church.
In addition to musical interests in the areas of worship leading, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music technology and production; Chad also enjoys making an impact with creative communications, media development, motion graphics, web design/development, photography, and graphic design.
Kyle with his wife Liesl and two boys joined Edgewood in the summer of 2016. They attended Bryan College (Dayton, TN) where Kyle earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and minors in Bible and History. He is passionate about young people, building relationships, missions, and discipleship. He has lived in the South his whole life but is now excited to call Illinois home.
Along with youth and young adults ministry, Kyle enjoys world travel, reading, watching good movies, filmmaking, astrophotography, and disc golf.
Sheila is a graduate of Rock Island High School and Black Hawk College where she earned an Associate degree in Business Education. Sheila has been a member of Edgewood since 1994. Sheila joined the Edgewood staff as an administrative assistant in November of 2006. She is married to Marty and has two daughters.
Marie is a graduate of Free Will Baptist Bible College and joined our staff in 2007 as our Office Assistant. Marie composes the different publications of Edgewood and assists the pastors in their ministries. Marie enjoys being a part of our Ignite Ministry. She received Christ at an early age and has been serving the Lord most of her life. Some of her hobbies include: bowling, cooking, and drama.
Suzy grew up in the Quad Cities and attended Edgewood. She graduated From Augustana College with a Computer Science/Math degree. Suzy joined the staff as the Nursery Director in 2015. Suzy is married to Jason and they have two daughters.
Joe Wells joined fulltime staff in 2002. He is responsible for and does a great job keeping the facility looking great and ensuring it is prepared for the many ministry programs that take place throughout the week at Edgewood. Joe is married to Lisa.
Janelle joined the team in 2012. She assists Joe in cleaning and setting up the facility for ministry.
